WHAT'S YOUR IDENTITY?
by Kathy Pegram
In a world where many today do not know what their identity is, it is imperative that we know what our identity is. We must let God establish our Kingdom Identities and stop allowing the world to define us. What I am trying to say is - stop letting your insecurites keep you from stepping into your God given destiny. Man may say you're not good enough, not pretty enough, not smart enough, etc! But, God says, "You are enough!" Our pastor, Jeremy Bryan, is always on point in his sermons and one Sunday morning he just drove home so much that I had recently learned from our ladies conference. Who Am I? I am not who you say I am, I am who God says I am.
The enemy will attack your identity and he will cause you to forfeit your destiny if you listen to him. If the enemy can get us to doubt ourselves he can stop us from doing what God wants to do through us. Our emotions will effect us over and over and over again in this life! But, we need to respond to God's voice, not our emotions and step into our anointing.
The song "You Say" by Lauren Daigle, has the line, "The only thing that matters now is everything You think of me, in You I find my worth, in You I find my identity.” I know feeling inadequate, unqualified, etc is an ongoing battle, especially for women. We just need to hold our heads up, straighten our crowns and say, “Who Am I? I am a child of the most high God, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords and my identity is in Him and Him alone!”
2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” You will never find your identity horizontally. We get our identity vertically. I am not something because of what I do. I am something because I am in Christ. And that is good enough for me!
Love and Prayers,
Kathy
