THE ALARM IS SOUNDING!

Do we really believe Jesus is coming back for us? I believe that a lot of peopleno longer have their eyes turned toward heaven. I believe that a lot no longer believe their Savior is coming. They've heard it preached for so long, they've begun to listen to it like it was a fairy tale more than reality. It's kind of like, "Oh, I know that story is about the Prince coming for His bride," but in their hearts, it's no longer real to them. The alarm has been sounding, but no one wants to leave the area.

Several years ago, we were staying in a motel during a revival and I had just drifted off to sleep. When all of a sudden, a horrible noise pierced my consciousness Right outside our door, a fire alarm had gone off! We ran to the door but we didn't see any smoke or anyone running around. The alarm was just sounding - loudly! Steve called the front desk, but no one answered. We then checked the hall again and we saw nothing, just that horrible loud noise. I even looked into the parking lot to see if I could see anyone leaving, but didn't see anyone there either. Steve then tells me to go back to bed, that there's not a fire. I'm like, "How do we know that with the alarm blaring??!!" Trust me, he says, go back to bed.

Well, I decided to check on the boys one more time, but they are just sleeping through it all, so I reluctantly go back to bed. After I got in, I asked Steve, "But what if there is a fire?" "Don't worry", he says, "I've been praying the whole time and I haven't smelled anything, it's fine." I then told him, "Right! You laid there praying so hard that you called the fire down out of heaven and now the alarm has sounded and you want me to go back to sleep. Ok, sure, I've got it. Sure. I'll go back to sleep. Yea, right!"

But, you know what my final thought was that night before drifting back off to sleep? I thought, this is how it will be when Jesus comes. The alarm has been sounded, we've all had time to get ready before we exit this earth at the blast of the trumpet. But how many won't be ready? Are you going to shrug off the alarm or get your life in order? Jesus is coming! Don't believe it? That's your choice. Go ahead, roll back over; go to sleep. Or, prepare for an emergency exit. Cause we're about ready to go home! It's up to you.

1 Thessalonians 4:17, "Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord".
