HE DIRECTS MY STEPS
by Kathy Pegram
"The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps." (Proverbs 16:9)
Sometimes we plan things out and try to figure things out. As we are doing all of this we slowly begin down our path in life. As we travel God leads and directs our steps and eventually we will arrive at the point where God wants us. We just have to realize that God's timing is not our timing and sometimes it takes longer to get to where God wants us than we think it should. We have all these plans, all these dreams and ideas and we just want to get to the place where we can set them into motion, but God in his wisdom knows that we have certain steps to take to get to where we are destined to be.
"The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord …" (Psalm 37:23)
Just think of it this way, a step is one day in your life. God has planned out every single day of your life. God set before you every single day of your life. Nothing is a surprise to Him. You just need to live each and every day to its fullest and do to the best of you ability what God has called you to do, for that day and that day only. Don't worry about the next day, but do what God has called you to do that day. If you look at
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5)
It is God's job to lead and direct, our path. If you have ever went on a tour of a cavern, you know that a guide leads you. They tell you when to duck and when to watch your step. They let you know if it's slippery, etc. We follow and listen. Why? Because we trust them, it's their job and they know what they are doing They know those caverns like the back of their hands. They can point out things you would have never seen without their guidance. God is our guide, he is directing our steps. Sometimes he says, Stop! At other times He says, Wait. He compels us to study our Bibles, to pray. He speaks to us to reach out and help others. He is directing, He is leading. We need to learn to put our trust in Him and step where tells us to.
Lord, help us to put our trust in You. Guard us from worry and anxiety that would try to attach its self to us. Help us to stop trying figure things out on our own. But to trust completely in you. Teach us to wait on You and Your perfect timing in our lives . Help us to trust and seek after you in every aspect of our lives.
Love & Prayers,
Kathy
