DON'T PROSTITUTE THE ANOINTING!
by Steve Pegram
Leviticus 19:29, “Do not prostitute thy daughter, to cause her to be a whore; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.”
This is a very serious word from the Lord. It is, in fact, more than just a word. It is a warning! A warning that must be heeded by our day. A warning that must be listened to with the utmost of sincerity.
The Lord has shown me that the daughter here is the “anointing” that He has birthed within the church. And now it is our responsibility to take care of and to nurture this daughter. She is our responsibility! Why? Because she is our daughter! The daughter that the Lord of Glory has given us.
And just as it is the parents’ responsibility to raise and care for a natural physical son or daughter, it is the church’s duty to protect this precious daughter at all cost. We will be held accountable for how we take care of and nurture this tender daughter. For she is fair and she is lovely. She is tender and fragile. And she must be cared for like a flower petal that will be crushed if let fall to the ground.
It is the church’s solemn duty to not sell out and lose the anointing! It is the church’s calling and duty to not ever go back. For, if we sell out or go back to the old ways before this daughter was birthed in our churches, you will have, in fact, prostituted your daughter, the anointing! A very serious word? Yes! For many in this modern age of Charismatic hoopla have done just that indeed – prostituted their daughter! Many have sold out. Many have resorted to hype and trickery. Others who have not done these things, have on the other hand, let their daughter die! Die through malnutrition, from not receiving a proper balance of the Word. Others have let her die from misuse and abuse. I believe my friends that we will be held accountable of how we treat this precious daughter!
In Ezekial 23: 1-35, there is a very serious warning from God concerning how God’s wrath will be unleashed if the church prostitutes it’s daughter, the anointing. It would behoove every reader of this message to go there and read it for yourself. And then pray! Pray for the anointing!
