RED SEA MIRACLES IN MODERN DAY TIMES

Then the angel of God who was going before the host of Israel moved and went behind them, and the pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them, coming between the host of Egypt and the host of Israel. And there was the cloud and the darkness. And it lit up the night without one coming near the other all night. Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Lord drove the sea back by a strong east wind all night and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. And the people of Israel went into the midst of the sea on dry ground, the waters being a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.” (Exodus 14:19-22 ESV)

When Israel came up out of the Red Sea, they sang the praises of God for the mighty deliverance He had just given them. They must have said to each other, “Never could there be so great a miracle as this again. No other generation in all of future history will ever witness such a mighty demonstration of God's power in such a visible way. Generations to come will remember this day.”

Indeed, for many years that would be the case. A few hundred years into the future, King David looked back to Israel's miraculous deliverance at the Red Sea and said, “Come and see the works of God. He turned the sea into dry land. They went through the flood on foot. There did we rejoice in Him.” As a child David must have sat enthralled as he heard the story over and over again. Now David told his children the same story of God's past deliverance. But there came a time when David could no longer simply tell the story without asking, “God, do it again!” Suddenly, it wasn't enough to just talk about what God had done in the distant past. David wanted to see God deliver his people then and there. Look at what he said, “We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old.”

David is saying here, “Lord, all my life I've heard about what you did in the past.” But then David burst out, “Thou art my King, O God: Command deliverances for Jacob.” In other words, “God, you are my King also. Do these things again for your people who are alive right now. I don't want to hear only about the miracles of the past. Let it happen again, O God, right here in my day.”

Do you know that there is a mighty army of spiritual warfighters in the day that we live in currently that are crying out the same prayer to God? Wherever there is a man or a woman, a boy or a girl, or a teenager, that is on fire for God, that is accepted their call to be a spiritual warfighter in the army of the Kingdom of God, they are crying out, “O God, let us see your powerful deliverance, and your powerful victory, in the day that we live in currently.”

Have you ever prayed a prayer like that? I have, many times. I don't know about you, but I don't want to hear just about what God did 100 years ago, or 50 years ago, or even 20 years ago. No! I want to know what God is doing right now in this day. God never intended for the parting of the Red Sea to be the last miracle, and the miracles should not die with our generation either. I believe with all of my heart that the greatest hour for the Church of Jesus Christ is just ahead. I believe wholeheartedly that we can have Red Sea miracles in modern day times.

Did you know that we are promised last day deliverances, last day victories, in our war fighting that are far greater than the opening of the Red Sea? What God wants to do for us in these last days is far more powerful than anything seen in the past. I believe it will be so great that God's people will not look back at the miracles of our spiritual forefathers and dream about the good old days. Why? Because we will be so excited by the miraculous, wonder-working, delivering, awesome power of our God, that we are witnessing our own selves.

This is not a prophetic utterance from my own mind. It comes straight from the Word of God. Jeremiah 23 says, “Behold, the last days come, saith the Lord… They shall no more say the Lord liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.” All of those past miracles, as wonderful as they were, will no longer be proof to the world that God is alive and at work in the earth. No. God promises to do a new thing!

Jeremiah goes on to say, “They shall no more say the Lord liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; But, the Lord liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the House of Israel out of the North Country, and from all of the countries whither I had driven them.” Did you know that this prophecy was speaking of our day right now? Over the past decades, we have seen this very thing happen right before our eyes. Several years ago, once the Soviet Union opened its borders for the Soviet Jews to leave and to go back to Israel, I can promise you that those Soviet Jews who made it back to Israel are no longer crying out “Blessed be the God who brought us up out from Egypt,” but are saying “Blessed be the Lord who brought us down out of Russia.”

We constantly want to talk about God parting the Red Sea for the Israelites, while right here in our generation we have seen a miracle even greater than that. And if God would do that for the Jews who still reject his Son as Messiah, how much more will He do miracles for spiritual Israel–His church! God has promised to bless and increase His last day Church more than any previously. Look at what Ezekiel 36:11 says, “I will do better unto you than at your beginnings.” This verse doesn't describe a church that's grown weaker. It's a promise of a great work of God that will occur in these last days.

Fellow spiritual warfighter, I want you to think back to when you first got saved. You were so happy and excited about Jesus that the fire of God burned within your heart. Now, hear the Word of your Commander-in-Chief, as He says to you, “I'm going to do better than that for you.” He's going to do better things than you've ever seen before.

Better than the Red Sea, you ask? Better than Elijah calling fire down from heaven? Yes, God's got something better. Better than the apostles casting out devils and seeing cripples rise up and dance? Better than God shaking the upper room on Pentecost with His power? Yes, a thousand times yes! God's Word makes it plain–He's got something better for us!

Many might ask, “What could be better?” I believe we are getting ready to see the full revelation of Jesus Christ. The fullest revelation of Him we have ever seen in the history of mankind. Even in this hour, God is raising up spiritual warfighters who are so in love and in tune with Jesus that miracles will be a common occurrence again in our day. Ezekiel 36:26 says, “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you, and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.” Do you know what that heart of flesh is? It's the heart of Jesus! God is going to raise up warfighters in this day that have the heart of Christ in them.

I believe that it is time to stop looking back at the good old days. Instead, we are heading into the good last days. Thank God for all the victories He has given warfighters in the past. Thank God for all that He has done for His Church. He is worthy of all praise and thanksgiving for all He's done. But He has saved the best wine for last. The best is getting ready to be unleashed upon the Church in a way like we've never known before.

Get ready to witness the saintliness, godliest generation of all time. Our sons and daughters are going to be rained upon with righteousness. This new generation of spiritual warfighters will do the greatest exploits ever. They will be so full of Jesus that the world will see the very character of Jesus in them. Friend, you may wish you had been there on the day of Pentecost when the Holy Ghost fire was poured out. But God has said He has saved the best for last. That means more of the Spirit and more of the power of God. Yes, we are getting ready to see Red Sea miracles in modern day times.
