CHANGES
by Kathy Pegram
Whether we like it or not changes occur in our lives. There are marriages and divorces, births and deaths. We change jobs, change churches, change schools, change our hair, our weight. We've been changing since the day we were conceived and we'll continue to change even as Gabriel blows his trumpet. We have all come to expect changes in our lives. The question is, "What will we do with these changes and how will we handle them?"
During every stage of our life no matter what change we're going through we still need the Lord. He and He alone is the one who can help us through our changes. It doesn't matter how young or old you are you are going to experience change in your life. Look back on the past year, was it a great year for you? Maybe you feel like this was the worst year you've ever lived through. Either way the year involved some type of changes for you. Maybe you welcomed a new baby into the family. On the other hand maybe you buried a beloved family member. Did you get that job promotion you were after, or maybe you were let go from your job after 20 years of service. Whether it's the happy times that came our way or the sad times we all experienced changes this year.
One of my favorite passages of scripture is Ecclesiastes 3;1-8, "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to dance; A time to cast stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace."
Whatever your going through just remember your circumstance can change tomorrow. I pray that the biggest change that comes our way is that we all have more compassion for others. That we will do more for the kingdom of God than ever before. Let's lift up the name of the Almighty God, let's do all we can to win more people to the kingdom of God and encourage those who are apart of the kingdom of God. If we let him, satan will occupy our minds with so many other things we will lose sight of the importance of preparing ourselves for Jesus' return. As we go forward, may we look forward to the changes we can make in others lives by telling them about Jesus.
Love and Prayers,
Kathy
