1 Corinthians 2: 1-4, “And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.”
There is much talk today about the anointing and even living in the anointing. Some of it benefits believers. But still other parts of it, I believe, confuses believers. For instance, what do we mean when we say that we are to live in the anointing? How do you live in the anointing of God on a regular basis? Actually, there are some very simple ways for a believer to live in a constant flow of the anointing. These are not super-spiritual ways, but rather, very simplistic ways.

Don’t Try To Explain Away The Supernatural.
The truth of the matter is this: The anointing is not allowed to move and operate like it should because many churches, parishioners and even clergy try to deny the power of God. They try to explain away everything that God tries to do. They have no anointing and they do not want anyone else to have any either! If you persist in fighting the moves of God and criticize everything that God tried to do within His people’s lives, you will never have any anointing. Basically, it can all go back to Jesus’ simple words concerning faith and how that the faith of a mustard seed can move mountains. It is sad, but it is true, there are many today in our modern church world that doesn’t have faith to believe God for the supernatural. All they ever do is doubt and ridicule. Then they wonder why they have no anointing!

Set Your Eyes Upon God And Not Hype.
To live in the anointing, you must seek for God. Not an experience, but God! Not an emotional high, but God! Not hype and emotionalism, but God! Don’t let hype deceive you. We’ve had enough hype in the church during the 20th century alone to last us for the rest of eternity! We don’t need hype to have church. We don’t need to be manipulated and tricked. We need God! I don’t know about you my friend, but I am tired of manipulation in the name of God. I am tired of men and women trying to convince us something is of God when we know He’s not anywhere near some of the stuff that goes on in our churches. Set your eyes on God and not hype and you will be able to live in the anointing on a regular basis and not just short intervals of time.

Don’t Be Afraid To Lose Control.
You may say right here, “Now wait a minute Brother Pegram. We don’t need to lose control and get carried away.” Well, we are talking about living in the anointing. And to live in the anointing, and to operate in the anointing on a regular basis, you must have come to a place where you can allow God to use you no matter what! And to do that, you must be willing for God to destroy your pride. Our pride is the last giant to fall from our lives. If pride is left within our lives, it will cause you to miss the move of God in your life. Don’t be afraid to let God have His way in your life. Don’t be afraid to let God use you in ways that you’ve never been used before. Because it’s only when we come to a place of complete and total submission to His will and His ways, that we can ever live in the anointing.

Go With The Flow.
When the presence and anointing of God comes upon you, it always comes for a purpose. If you pursue your own agenda, you literally tie the hands of God from working in your life. Jesus Himself taught this principle in His teachings when He spoke of how He could have done great miracles, but the people’s faith tied His hands ((so to speak)) so He couldn’t do what He wanted to do. Many today are trying to make God operate on their time schedule; on their terms, and you cannot do it. You cannot dictate to the Almighty Sovereign God what He can do and what He cannot do! And a lot of times, what He has planned, or what He wants to do may be totally opposite of what we think should happen. It is in these times that we must learn not to try and rationalize Him and His ways, but rather, learn to flow with His Spirit. Many have not learned how to flow with Him, but that is essential if we are to live in the anointing.
